Five hours southeast of Chengdu just outside the notable Upper Yangtze port of Yibin the vast Bamboo Sea provides foreign visitors with a lesson in Chinese leisure.  Myriad teahouses, specialty bamboo cuisine, verdant scenery, fresh, clean air and of course dense bamboo forests create a scene of the utmost serenity.  Even though the forest's total area only covers about 120 square kilometers, the park's winding hilly roads and various activities make it impossible to fully explore the park in one day.
