Yunnan Province

Overland China / Yunnan Province

Yunnan province is the gem of southwestern China. In fact, its name alone means “South of the Clouds,” referring to its ideal weather and picturesque landscape. It is a rich, verdant land redolent with fresh fruits & vegetables, myriad minority cultures and amazing sites to behold. The people of Yunnan are friendly and laid-back, and visitors are consistently welcomed with warm smiles and comfortable weather throughout the year. At the crossroads of the southern Silk Road, Yunnan is something of a melting pot of Asian culture as influences from throughout the continent are felt from the Himalayas in the north to the jungles of Xishuangbanna in the south.
